WRITING THE FIRST PERSON

UDAYA KUMAR WITH THE FIRST COPY OF HIS BOOK  Why did autobiographical writings emerge in Kerala more than a century ago? What were the social, material and cultural features that motivated individuals to write personal histories and memoirs?
